So here’s what’s going on with MacDavid

So it’s been crazy busy as usual. Here’s the update on what’s going on with me in list form.

  • I’m taking a leave from school at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale for one quarter to work on renewing my teaching certification (or I’m out of a job come June. EEEkkk!! lol)
  • Something mysteriously happened to my left knee and I’m getting an MRI on it soon to figure out what happened (more details below).
  • I haven’t forgotten the How iMac Project. I’m actually making progress, just haven’t spoken about it.

And that’s mostly it.

About my knee…
Last week Wednesday I noticed a slight pain or ache in my left knee. Didn’t think anything of it and kept moving along with my day. Come Thursday I noticed a constant pop/click in my knee when I would walk. At first it was just annoying and made me look like I was drunk when I walked (LOL) as I tried to straighten myself up. Later on Friday, pain was now happening with every step and progressed thereafter.

Yesterday and today I’m noticing some improvement and normalcy to my walking. The pain is also slowly subsiding, but since having seen the doctor twice, I am scheduled for an MRI. However, I’m waiting for my insurance company to approve the procedure. I don’t fully understand way an MRI that is fully covered in my insurance needs a review board to approve it. I’m baffled by it. I’m in pain, and an x-ray does not show soft tissue, although my x-rays did show that my bones are fine. Thank God!

What IS scaring me is that my doctor said that I could have a meniscus tear in my knee. Oy!

Anybody every go through this before..about the knee pain I mean and a meniscus tear?

Listen to that, “meniscus tear”. That sounds SCARY!

TweetDeck’s Facebook Status Update Option

TweetDeck has a feature that allows you to update your Facebook status if you so choose. And it was apparently in response to Seesmic’s Desktop application. Read about it here.

Just thought I’d share.

Twitter, a searchable LIVE human thought-stream. Thoughts on this?

March 12th, 2009 View Comments

This is probably one of the best reports that I have seen from Rocketboom in a long time. For example, the point below was mentioned in the video:

…With over six million people Twittering at a daunting pace, Twitter currently controls the most contemporary thought-stream humanity has every seen.

When she put it that way, I don’t see how any person can not feel amazed and equally frightened. This is powerful stuff! As a person that began using Twitter close to it’s humble beginning, I have a good understanding–I think–of it’s usefulness and it’s power from a social aspect. Furthermore, I am witnessing more and more people that when asked just a few months ago, “Are you on Twitter?” followed by the questioning response of, “What is Twitter?” those same people are now referring to this social network on a regular basis. In other words, the term “Twitter” is becoming a household name the same way Google did. Think back now to when Google first emerged as a powerful location for searching out information. If a person has a question what do they say now, “I’ll Google it!” thus making Google not only a name, but also a verb. :)

The power of Twitter coupled with the ability to “tweet,” as it were, from any mobile phone makes the quote above a remarkable truth and a modern show of humanistic collective thought.

So what are your thoughts on Twitter.com? Even if you aren’t currently a user, can you recall hearing any mention of Twitter within the last 6 months?

Leave a comment here on macdavidpro.com or reply to me with on Twitter.com by typing “@macdavid” followed by your response–which of course means that you actually have to be a user on Twitter.

I really look forward to what you all have to say.
