I’m alive! Can you believe it?!

October 19th, 2009 View Comments

OMG, the past week is a total blur. I was, ya know, working like I always do and then I noticed that I was like dizzy a lot, passing out and unable to stay awake during regular hours of the day. Sleep deprivation is no joke! Anyway, I’ve just been such a work-a-holic that my body just said, “If you don’t slow down, I’ll make you slow down!” So it shut down on me and I was slapped with a fine of several days rest. All I could think was, “I gotta work, I gotta work, I gotta work, so much to do!” but my body wasn’t havin’ it.

Long story short, I’m mostly better but now fighting a lingering tickle in my lungs that makes me cough. My friend asked me if I have a sore throat and I said no. Otherwise, I could possibly be a sign of the Swine Flu, God forbid.

And finally, in all honesty it seemed like a good time to take a “holiday” and stay away from the internet. I know that is probably a little unorthodox for a blogger to do, but I was on burnout folks. It was rest, or bust. But I’m sorry, I’ll make it up to ya with a nice video soon. I’ll show you a little clip of the awesome interview I had with Mike Ambs of @pedal and @ftom. Also, check out an interview that I had with @mac20q last week here.

Meanwhile, how you doin?

P.S. One more thing, I started up my lifestream using a posterous account that I literally set up many, many moons (months, hehe) ago and finally started using it a couple week ago. Check it at iamdavidmoore.posterous.com. Book mark it and subscribe. Thanks y’all!! lol *hugs*

How iMac Project: Project Pedal’s “For Thousands of Miles”

For Thousands of Miles

As some of you may already know I have been following this project for a long time and that I absolutely love it. Also you may or may not know that Mike Ambs and I have been diligently working on the second video feature for the How iMac Project on this very film. To a point we were making great progress, until we ran into trouble with getting the video footage from his computer to mine. You see the project is a collaborative effort between each featured person and myself. In this case, Mike shot a lot of awesome video footage about Project Pedal and For Thousands of Miles, and I edit it together with my own input and interview with him as a cohesive story.

The dilemma is simple, but increasingly aggravating because it’s so simple. First, the footage is Pre Resolution High Definition and approximately 4 Gigabytes large (zipped), approximately 7.5 (unzipped). My drop.io account isn’t big enough and I lack the funds at the moment to fund a premium account with drop.io. So, we tried DropBox, ftp transfer, and my MobileMe account, all to no avail.

My last resort–thanks to Mike’s great thinking–was to send an email to drop.io in hopes that they might sponsor the How iMac Project, or at least this one episode in exchange for a premium account. That’s all. I have my doubts, as I know it’s a tough economy that we live in, but the worst response I can get from the drop.io team is, “No” right? So, I hope to hear back from drop.io some time this week with a response one way or the other.

Meanwhile, I suggested to Mike, perhaps we can just go the traditional route by burning the files to a DVD and snail mailing it, USPS style. lol

Snail mail aside, do you guys have any other ideas for file transfer over the internet for future How iMac videos. I’d love to get your input!

Thanks in advance!

Stay Synced!

P.S.

Mike and Amanda are running an awesome Kickstarter campaign for their film and are honestly quite close to their goal. Please, if you check out their film and would like to offer support, maybe consider helping out in their campaign at krs.projectpedal.com. Also, you can see their new kickstarter campaign video there or here (below).
