iPad Opinion: “iDonotwant” – fashion blogger speaks out on iPad

February 11th, 2010 View Comments

F-bomb aside, I do find, fashion blogger, Bryanboy’s overall opinion quite indicative of an attitude I think is definitely shared by A LOT of people regarding the iPad. I’ll even confess that I still can’t find and justify a non-wasteful reason for needing to own this device. If someone gifted it to me, GREAT! But am I silly enough to shell out $499 or more dollars for this things? Abso-freakin’-lutely not!!! At least not at that price. Nevertheless, from a strictly practical standpoint, I truly don’t need this thing, whereas my iPhone was primarily an investment to suite the needs of my busy lifestyle better than a Blackberry at the time way back in 2007 (iPhone), then 2008 (iPhone 3G), and 2009 (iPhone 3GS). ;)

What’s your opinion on the iPad. Time worthwhile device, or do you consider it a waste of money? Sound off!

Anyway here is what Bryanboy had to say about the iPad…

Aside from the touch screen, what can the iPad do that a phone and a laptop can’t? I don’t understand why they won’t develop one powerful device that can do EVERYTHING.

Camera, phone, laptop, iPod, and now, the iPad? Can you imagine carrying all that mess in your bag?

16-64 Gig memory and no camera or phone functions? And you have to pay more extra for 3G capabilities?

Typical Apple behavior to nickle and dime features because they know suckers will buy them every time they release a new version.

thesartorialist.com: Melbourne Man – Shirt, tie, jacket, highwaters?

The Sartorialist_ On the Street....Melbourne Man, Melbourne from thesartorialist.com

Every week Scott Schuman snaps something that I like, and this week it’s the shirt, tie, and jacket. But while I’m not a fashion person, I don’t get the latest obsession with the guys that dress formal, but with high-water pants. (Just in case, high-water pants are the pants that end basically above the ankle.)  I don’t get it. Are they hot? Are they in need of a cool place at all times? What? Can some fashion designer explain this one to me? …’cause I’d like to know. It’s weird.

Just sayin’.

The Sartorialist: scarf, shirt jacket

I love this! The color combination and that brown scarf is fabulous. I can see myself wearing this.

Btw, thesartorialist.com is wear I get my fashion ideas as far as mix and matching what clothes I already own and learning new ways to wear my clothes. Also sometimes I’ll do “The Look For Less” kind of shopping (if you’ve ever seen that show), where I’ll go the mall with a particular ensemble in my mind or a picture on my iPhone and try to find clothes that match the style if not exactly at a good price. Also, I love street fashion…namely New York Fashion. It’s just hot!

But the place that I really like to shop for clothes is Marshalls. They get everything and I don’t care about seasons or necessarily how out or in a style is. If I think it’s nice for me, I’ll wear it. lol

In the words of Bryanboy…

Baboosh! and that’s all.

The September Issue: Film Gives Inside on Vogue Magazine

July 25th, 2009 View Comments

Folks, I don’t know whether you follow fashion at all, but this film is going to be revolutionary in regards to Anna Wintour. Why? It’s never been done before. This woman has sat atop the pillar that is American Vogue and has ruled for 20 flippin’ years! To some it’s a reign of tyranny for others she’s a godsend to the fashion industry. I can’t say because I just don’t know.

Now if you’ve seen The Devil Wears Prada, then you essentially saw a fictional representation of the real thing. Anna Wintour is nicknamed “Nuclear Wintour”. When I said she rules, she rules.

I really must see this film, and so should you!

Follow the film on twitter.

That’s all.
