Gladly I’m not in need of this, but I most certainly get and appreciate the humor in this.
Lovingly made by Aaron Dra-blah-blah. I’m kidding Aaron. …Just in case you see this post. It’s Aaron Drazcynski. Check out his site: www.papermodelplane.com.
I learned of this thanks to my friend Jason Dunn on Facebook.
I recently spoke to the designer and owner of markjardine.com, about his site and how much I love the design. It’s just a basic tumblr.com blog, but it so well done. So I asked him if I could get a custom version of it at a cost. I was denied, but I still like the website and thought I’d share Mark’s work here. You can also see the great work from his company tapbots.com, which has developed some really awesome looking and apps that provide great service–among which I think PasteBot is the coolest (a cut & paste iPhone application).
Here is a great video that was created by transparenthouse.com, a 3D design and visualization studio, showing Apple’s technological innovations.
Notes
Transparent House used its visualization capabilities to create a tribute to a company they greatly admire on the occasion of the iPad release. The idea was to show a glimpse into the history of this product giant by modeling some of the innovative products they’ve developed in their 3+ decade history.
The animation was done entirely using 3Ds Max and V-Ray render and took about 10 days to complete. Professionally done 3D visualization is the perfect tool to present concepts or new products in a beautiful, photoreal style, while creating a mood with music and conveying a message, through on-screen text or narration.
This animation was an artistic exercise and not intended for commercial use. The animation is not affiliated with Apple or any third-party companies. We hope this animation will be used mainly as an educational tool for the 3d visualization or/and design industry.
Anders Norman, literally loses his house and all his possessions, save one, in an unfortunate fire. The flames engulfed his iMac but amazingly the computer still functions! Apple’s product design and construction is astoundingly well done. Jony Ive, Senior Vice President of Design at Apple, should be proud. Source is from TUAW and Febers.se.
Read Anders’ account.
from TUAW Norman’s experience (translated from Swedish) follows: “Unfortunately, the whole house and all things in there completely destroyed, so even the iMac. What’s funny is that it is still in operation. While damaged from smoke and dust and partially melted, but yet, however in operation.
After I plugged in the burned power cord and wiped off the worst dust from the screen I pressed the melted start button. Imagine my surprise when the startup sound sings from the speakers! The screen turns on and the machine connects to the wireless network.
The mouse works flawlessly and the scroll wheel as well. Firefox starts and I take up the article from the local magazine about the fire … Fantastic!
On Friday I bought a new iMac at the Apple Store here in Umeå, which I now rejoice.”
I spotted a talented photographer online named Parris Whittingham who shot the image above (Mohawk). He formed a collaboration with graphic designer Archan Nair and created this really cool image below. Maybe it’s just me, but this is really cool.
